
The new Law on Telecommunications Code, already passed by the National Assembly, was adopted in urgent procedure by the Senate, The Sun reported in its Thursday edition.
The new law contains 188 articles which "will translate the key provisions, guidelines and additional texts of UEMOA and ECOWAS in our National Telecommunications Code," the Minister of Communication Telecommunications and quoted by the newspaper.
"Since December 31, 2010, we are overwhelmed and submitted to the relevant community. So there is an emergency (to) adapt our legislation," said Moustapha Guirassy defending this bill before the senators.
