Orange (France Telecom Group ) received one of the most prestigious awards in the telecommunications industry by winning the award for best mobile technology for emerging countries,
at Global Mobile Awards 2011 organized by the GSMA as part Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Orange has been honored for its program of solar base stations.
It allows each year, saving over 10 million liters of fuel prevent the emission of 29,000 tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere, and provides 6 GWh solar energy to the entire radio network in Africa, the Middle East and Asia (AMEA).
