How Much Formula Will I Get From Wic

44 - Receive Permanent Resident Card

My son received his permanent resident card its Philippine name because the information that were printed were the same as those shown on our confirmation form for permanent residence. Also, he advised us to protect the card by inserting it into the protective envelope provided in the shipment and we recommended to keep the information page as a reminder.

Regarding the optical band card, it contained all the information included on our confirmation form for permanent residence, as well as changes to our request, if any. Once encoded on the card, the data could not be changed. So, if the information contained on the card included a error or omission , he had to inform the Call Centre and we would have got a new card. However, it was impossible to produce a permanent resident card that had a name of more than 20 letters or a name over 15 letters. These are the limits of the CIC database. So the first name that apparaƮtssait on his permanent resident card was automatically shortened, because our son had 2 names Filipino and more, the first was written in two words. Moreover, only persons authorized by Citizenship and Immigration Canada could access the information encoded on the card, using an electronic card reader and the others had access only information they were printed . Also, if its card was lost or stolen in Canada, we would have informed the Telecentre and if it had been lost or stolen in the outside Canada, we would have informed the office CIC abroad nearest you.

For trips abroad with our son, he would simply show his permanent resident card able to return to Canada aboard a vehicle from a commercial carrier (airplane, train, bus or boat). Also, it would have had to ensure that the card has not expired (the expiration date appears in front of the card) and if the card was no longer valid, we would have requested a further advance of travel. However, we were not advised not to travel to the United States, so long, we did not turn his birth certificate.

Finally, for retain its status as a Permanent Resident Card (valid for 5 years), it must comply with the provisions of the Act Immigration and Refugee Protection and conditions imposed under the Regulations.
